      Welcome Message & Invitation to Submit

      The Scientific Committee of the 48th Annual International Congress of the EHS, to be held in Porto, Portugal, in June 2026, warmly invites all surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals involved in hernia and abdominal wall surgery to submit their work for presentation at the congress.

       

      We encourage submissions that reflect the diversity and dynamism of our field — from clinical studies and basic science to innovation, education, and surgical videos.

       

      Accepted abstracts will be presented as Oral Communications, e-Posters, or Video presentations, and will be published in the official EHS 2026 Congress Abstract Book.

       

      Join us in shaping the scientific excellence of EHS 2026 in the vibrant and historic city of Porto — a congress not to be missed!

      General Information

      1. All abstracts must be submitted in English via this official online submission portal.

      2. Submissions are welcome under the following categories: Oral Communications, E-Posters, Video Presentation.

      3. Abstracts must describe original, unpublished work relevant to hernia and abdominal wall surgery.

      4. The presenting author must ensure that all co-authors approve the submission and its final version.

      5. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to decide on acceptance, presentation format as an oral, e-poster or video, as well session allocation.

      6. All presenting authors are required to register for the full Congress.

      7. Ensure that your abstract is grammatically correct and free of typographical errors

      8. If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation, it means we have no record of your submission. If you are sure that you made a submission, check the e-mail address that you used to make your submission

      9. Generic names must be used for all references to products or companies. Brand names may be inserted as a reference at the bottom of the abstract page. Papers containing company names or brand names in the abstract text may be rejected. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice
